8/19/15 ~~

Hopefully most of you read last week’s newsletter that introduced the science behind telomeres in relation to how are bodies age. It also explained that we can change our lifestyle habits to slow down telomere shortening and therefore improve the aging process to help us look and feel younger.

To recap – Strategy # 1 was Good nutritional changes – if you missed it go back and take a look!

Here is strategy # 2 to slow down telomere shortening and therefore slow aging.

Strategy #2 – Reduce stress

Stress plays a huge role in our health, weight loss, and aging.
Increase stress = increased cortisol = chronic inflammation = accelerated aging

Here are some easy ways to reduce stress:
A.  Pray or Meditate
B.  Write down 3 things each day that you are grateful for – this helps improve our happiness and therefore stress is reduced.
C. Be kind

Do you rememeber my article or you Tube video on the #’s 5-3-1?
5- Take 5 minutes per day to pray or meditate
3- Write down 3 things you are thankful for
1- Do one act of random kindness each day

Products I Love

My new favorite meal bar to take on the go is the Lara Bar.  Most meal bars are heavily processed so I try to avoid them.  As you know I’m a huge advocate of avoiding anything packaged but these bars are a great choice if you must take something packaged and on the go.  You can get them at most super market stores and they have yummy flavors like Cashew Cookie and Apple Pie.
